The Estate Agents (Redress Scheme) (Penalty Charge) Regulations 2008

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Estate Agents Act 1979( 1 ).

Citation and Commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Estate Agents (Redress Scheme) (Penalty Charge) Regulations 2008 and shall come into force on 1st October 2008.

Level of the penalty charge

2. The amount of the penalty charge specified in a notice given to a person under section 23B(1) of the Estate Agents Act 1979 shall be £1000.
