The Road Safety Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) (England and Wales) Order 2008

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 61 of the Road Safety Act 2006( 1 ).

Citation and extent

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Safety Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) (England and Wales) Order 2008 and extends to England and Wales.

Commencement of section 45

2.Section 45 of the Road Safety Act 2006(“the Act”) shall come into force on 30th July 2008.

Transitional provisions

3.Section 45(2) of the Act shall not have effect for the purposes of section 28(1) of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001( 2 ) until 1st November 2008.

4. Section 45(3) to (7) of the Act shall not have effect until 1st November 2008.
