The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4A(3) of the Ministry of Defence Police Act 1987( 1 ), makes the following regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Ministry of Defence Police Appeal Tribunals (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into force on 20th August 2008.

Amendment to the Ministry of Defence Police Appeal Tribunals Regulations 2004

2. In regulation 4(2)(a) of the Ministry of Defence Police Appeal Tribunals Regulations 2004( 2 ) for the words “have a seven year general qualification within the meaning of section 71 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990( 3 )” substitute “satisfy the judicial-appointment eligibility condition within the meaning of section 50 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007( 4 ) on a 5-year basis”.
