The Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge (Vehicle Classifications & Revision of Charges) Order 2008

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Transport Charges & c. (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1954( 1 ), makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as The Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge (Vehicle Classifications & Revision of Charges) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 13 August 2008.

2. The tolls that the Company may demand, take and recover for the use of the floating bridge are revised so that those tolls shall not exceed the sums set out in the Schedule to this Order.

3. In this Order—

the Company” means The Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating BridgeCompany Limited;

the floating bridge” has the meaning given to that expression in section 2 of The Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge Act 1988( 2 );

“passenger vehicle and “goods vehicle” have the meanings given to those expressions in regulation 3(2) of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986( 3 ).

4. The Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge (Vehicle Classifications & Revision of Charges) Order 2008( 4 ) is revoked.

7 Passenger vehicle constructed or adapted to carry 17 or more passengers (including driver) but not exceeding 16000kg maximum authorised mass £15.00
8 Goods vehicle exceeding 7500kg but not exceeding 16000kg maximum authorised mass £15.00
