The Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 (Commencement No.1) Order 2008

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(2) of the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007(( 1 ).

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 (Commencement No.1) Order 2008.

Commencement

2. The following provisions of the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 shall come into force on 25 th November 2008โ€”

(a) section 1, except in so far as it provides for section 63N (power to extend jurisdiction to magistratesโ€™ courts) to be inserted into the Family Law Act 1996;

(b) section 3(1), in so far as it relates to Part 1 of Schedule 2 (except for paragraph 3(3) of that Part); and

(c) Part 1 of Schedule 2 (except for paragraph 3(3) of that Part).
