The Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 22, 42(6) and 43(1) of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998( 1 ):
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Support) (European Institutions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2008.
2. —(1) Except for regulation 8 these Regulations come into force on 1st January 2009.
(2)Regulation 8 comes into force on 1st September 2009.
3. In these Regulations, “the Principal Regulations” means the Education (Student Support) (European Institutions) (No. 2) Regulations 2006( 2 ).
Amendment of the Principal Regulations
4. The Principal Regulations are amended in accordance with these Regulations.
5. In Regulation 3 in the definition of “relevant date” for “2008” substitute “2009”.
6. In Regulation 8(3) for each occurrence of “2008” substitute “2009”.
7. In Regulation 9(17)—
(a) for each occurrence of “2008” substitute “2009”; and
(b) for “2009” substitute “2010”.
8. The Schedule to these Regulations has effect to substitute the figures in the third column of the table for the figures in the second column where they appear in the provisions of the Principal Regulations set out in the first column.
