The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 2002( 1 ), makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections (Appointed Day of Poll) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 8th December 2008.

2. The day appointed for the poll at the next general election of Members of the European Parliament is 4th June 2009.
