The Welfare Reform Act 2007 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2008

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 70(2) of the Welfare Reform Act 2007( 1 ).

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform Act 2007 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2008.

(2) In this Order any reference to a numbered section or Schedule is a reference to a section of, or Schedule to, the Welfare Reform Act 2007.

Appointed days

2. 11th December 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of—

(a) section 29 so far as relating to paragraph 10 (post-commencement up-rating of incapacity benefit and severe disablement allowance) of Schedule 4 (transition relating to Part 1); and

(b) paragraph 10 of Schedule 4.
