The Secretary of State for Health makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 1 ).

He has been designated for the purposes of section 2(2) in relation to the recognition of higher-education diplomas, formal qualifications or experience in the occupation, required for the pursuit of professions or occupations( 2 ).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Qualifications (Health and Social Care Professions) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and come into force on 31st March 2008.

Amendment of the commencement arrangements in the European Qualifications (Health and Social Care Professions) Regulations 2007

2. In regulation 1 of the European Qualifications (Health and Social Care Professions) Regulations 2007( 3 ) (citation, commencement and extent), in paragraph (3), for β€œon 1st April 2008” substitute β€œon the coming into force of article 21 of the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians Order 2007( 4 ) (the Register of Pharmacy Technicians)”.
