The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1) and 18(2) of the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975( 1 ). In accordance with section 18(4) of that Act he has consulted with such persons as appear to him to be requisite.
Citation and Commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (Designation) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 5 th February 2008.
Designation
2. The sports grounds specified in the Schedule which, in the opinion of the Secretary of State, have accommodation for more than 10,000 spectators are designated as sports grounds requiring a safety certificate under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
Amendment to the Safety of Sports Grounds (Rugby Football Grounds) (Designation) Order 1985
3. In the Schedule to the Safety of Sports Grounds (Rugby Football Grounds) (Designation) Order 1985( 2 ), the entry in respect of The Boulevard shall be omitted.
