The Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2008

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers confered upon him by section 178(8) and (9) of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005( 1 ), hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and extent

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2008.

(2) This Order extends to Northern Ireland.

Commencement on 1st April 2008

2. The following provisions of the Serious and Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 shall come into force on 1st April 2008—

(a) Section 163 (2);

(b) Section 164 (1), (2) and (3);

(c) Section 165 (1) (a) and (b);

(d) Section 174 (2);

(e) Schedule 14 paragraphs 2, 3 (a) and (b);

(f) Schedule 17 Part 2 where it applies to the Police Act 1997( 2 ).
