The European Parliamentary Elections (Returning Officer’s Charges) (Northern Ireland) Order 2009

Coming into force in accordance with Article 1(1)
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections (Returning Officer’s Charges) (Northern Ireland) Order 2009 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.
(2) In this Order “the 2004 Regulations” means the European Parliamentary Elections (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2004.
Revocation
2.The European Parliamentary Elections (Returning Officer’s Charges) (Northern Ireland) Order 2004( 3 ) is revoked.
Overall maximum recoverable amount
3. For the purposes of regulation 16(1) of the 2004 Regulations the amount specified as the overall maximum recoverable amount is—
(a) at a contested European Parliamentary election, £2,401,538; and
(b) at an uncontested European Parliamentary election (within the meaning of rule 17 of the European Parliamentary elections rules)( 4 ), £1494.79.

S.I. 2004/1267 . Regulation 16 was amended by the European Parliamentary Elections (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 and this Order is made under that regulation as amended.
Consent of the Treasury is required by regulation 16(9) of the 2004 Regulations.
The European Parliamentary elections rules are contained in Schedule 1 to the 2004 Regulations.
