The Pensions Act 2008 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2009

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 143(1), 144(4) and 149(1) of the Pensions Act 2008( 1 ).

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 2008 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2009.

(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Pensions Act 2008.

Commencement of provisions

2. —(1) The following provisions of the Act come into force on 29th June 2009—

(a) section 126 (amendment of provisions of Pensions Act 2004 relating to contribution notices or financial support directions) in so far as that section is not already in force, and

(b) in Schedule 9 (contribution notices and financial support directions under Pensions Act 2004)

(i) paragraph 4, and

(ii) paragraphs 1, 2, 8 and 15 in so far as those paragraphs are not already in force.

(2) Section 74 (review) of the Act comes into force on 1st July 2009.
