The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, in exercise of the power conferred on Her by paragraph 3A of Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958( 1 ), orders as follows:

Citation and commencement

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Public Records (Designation of Bodies) Order 2009.

(2) This Order comes into force on 1st September 2009.

Amendment to Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958

2. In Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958 (definition of public records), in Part 2 of the Table at the end of paragraph 3, insert at the appropriate place—

Arts and Humanities Research Council.

Economic and Social Research Council.

Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.

Medical Research Council.

Natural Environment Research Council. .
