The Gambling Act 2005 (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 2009

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 99(11) of the Gambling Act 2005( 1 ).
In accordance with section 355(6) of that Act a draft of this instrument was laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Gambling Act 2005 (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 2009 and shall come into force on the day after the day the Order is made .
Variation of limit in section 99(3)(a) of the Gambling Act 2005
2. In section 99(3)(a) of the Gambling Act 2005 (which requires a monetary limit to be imposed on the proceeds of any lottery promoted in reliance on a lotteryoperating licence by a non-commercial society or local authority) for “£2,000,000” substitute “£4,000,000”.
