Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the M60 Motorway (Junction 25) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2009 and shall come into force on 28th December 2009.
Revocation
2. The M60 Motorway (Junction 25) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2002( 3 ) are revoked.
Interpretation
3. In these Regulations—
“carriageway” has the same meaning as in the Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) Regulations 1982 ( 4 );
“the clockwise carriageway” means the clockwise carriageway of the M60 Motorway from a point 1025 metres north of the centreline of the Lingard Lane overbridge to a point 945 metres south of the centreline of that bridge; and
“the slip road” means the exit slip road leading from the clockwise carriageway of the M60 Motorway at junction 25 to where it meets the carriageway of the A6017.
Imposition of speed limit
4. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on the clockwise carriageway or the slip road.

1984 c.27 ; section 17(2) was amended by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (c.22) section 168 and Schedule 8, Part II, paragraph 28(3) and by the Road Traffic Act 1991 (c.40) , Schedule 4, paragraph 25 and Schedule 8. There are other amendments to section 17 which are not relevant to these Regulations.
Section 134(2) was amended by the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, section 168(1), Schedule 8, paragraph 77.
