The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred by section 148(4), (5) and (10) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009( 1 ), makes the following Order:

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2009.

Commencement in England and Wales

2. The following provisions of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 come into force in England and Wales on the day after this Order is made:

(a) section 69(3), (6), (7) and (8) (local authority economic assessment);

(b) section 71 (Leaders’ Boards);

(c) sections 84 (guidance and directions), 86 (regulations) and 87 (interpretation).
