The governing body of Monkseaton Community High School( 1 ) (βthe governing bodyβ) wish to continue to trial innovative arrangements in relation to the holding of their meetings and their decision making procedures implemented by virtue of the Monkseaton Community High School (Governing Body Procedures) Order 2006( 2 ).
The governing body have, in accordance with section 4(2) of the Education Act 2002( 3 ) (βthe Actβ), consulted the local education authority and such other persons as appear to them to be appropriate.
It is the opinion of the Secretary of State, having regard to the matters set out in section 1(2) of the Act, that the extension of the period for which that Order has effect may contribute to the raising of educational standards achieved by children in England.
On the application of the governing body, the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(1) and 3(1) of the Act.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Monkseaton Community High School (Governing Body Procedures) (Amendment) Order 2009 and comes into force on 8th May 2009.
Variation of The Monkseaton Community High School (Governing Body Procedures) Order 2006
2. β(1)The Monkseaton Community High School (Governing Body Procedures) Order 2006 is amended as follows.
(2) For Article 3, substitute the following Articleβ
β 3. This Order shall have effect until 7th May 2012. β
