The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

A draft of this Order has in accordance with section 8(6) of the Visiting Forces Act 1952( 1 ) been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament;

Her Majesty, on the advice of Her Privy Council and in exercise of the power conferred on Her by section 8 of the Visiting Forces Act 1952 and by virtue of paragraph 7 of the Schedule to the International Headquarters and Defence Act 1964( 2 ), makes the following Order:

Citation and Commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Visiting Forces and International Headquarters (Application of Law)(Amendment) Order 2009 and shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Interpretation

2. In this Order “1999 Order” means the Visiting Forces and International Headquarters (Application of Law) Order 1999( 3 ).

Preliminary

3. The 1999 Order shall be amended in accordance with Articles 4 and 5.

Amendment of Part II of Schedule 1 to the 1999 Order

4. In the list of countries contained in Part II of Schedule 1 to the 1999 Order( 4 )—

(a) “Bosnia-Herzegovina” shall be inserted between “Belgium” and “Bulgaria”;

(b) “Croatia” shall be inserted between “Bulgaria” and “The Czech Republic”;

(c) “Ireland shall be inserted between “Hungary” and “Italy”;

(d) “Montenegro” shall be inserted between “Moldova” and “The Netherlands”;

(e) “Serbia” shall be inserted between “Russia” and “Slovakia”; and

(f) “Tajikistan” shall be inserted between “Switzerland” and “Turkey”.

New Schedule 2 to the 1999 Order

5. For Schedule 2 to the 1999 Order there shall be substituted—
