The Secretary of State is a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of making Regulations under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, and makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Title, application and commencement I1

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2009; they apply in England and come into force on 1st May 2009.

Amendment to the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (England) Regulations 2006 I2

2. The Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (England) Regulations 2006( 3 ) are amended by replacing paragraphs (7) and (8) of regulation 4 with the following paragraph—

(7) Part 3 (with the exception of regulation 25) and Parts 4 to 9 do not apply in relation to the products of animal origin specified in Article 2 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 206/2009 on the introduction into the Community of personal consignments of products of animal origin ( 4 ) . .

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (England) Regulations 2006 to take account of the changes in personal imports permitted from third countries brought about by on the introduction into the Community of personal consignments of products of animal origin. Commission Regulation (EC) No 206/2009

An Impact Assessment has not been prepared for this instrument as no impact on business, charities or voluntary bodies is foreseen.
