Present,

The Queenโ€™s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 247 of the Local Government Act 1972( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Armorial Bearings) Order 2010 and shall come into force on 11th November 2010.

2. The armorial bearings which, immediately before 1st April 1974, were lawfully borne and used by the local authority named in column (1) of the following Table may be borne and used by the corresponding local authority named in column (2) of the Table, provided they have first been exemplified according to the laws of arms and recorded in the College of Armsโ€”
