The Children and Young Persons Act 2008 (Commencement No.3) (England) Order 2010

The Secretary of State for Education makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 44(4) and (10)(a) of the Children and Young Persons Act 2008( 1 ):

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Children and Young Persons Act 2008 (Commencement No. 3) (England) Order 2010.

Appointed day

2. 15th November 2010 is the appointed day for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Children and Young Persons Act 2008 in relation to England—

(a) section 8(2) and Schedule 1 in so far as they relate to paragraph 2(4) to (7) of that Schedule, and

(b) section 15 (duty of local authority to ensure visits to looked after children and others) in so far as it inserts section 23ZA(1)(b) into the 1989 Act( 2 ) for the purpose only of enabling regulations to be made.

“the 1989 Act” is defined in section 41 of the Children and Young Persons Act 2008 as meaning the Children Act 1989 (c.41) .
