Local Government Act 2010

2010 CHAPTER 35

An Act to prevent the implementation of existing proposals made for the purposes of Part 1 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.

[16th December 2010]

B e it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Prevention of implementation of certain proposals for single tier of local government

(1) After the commencement of this Act, no further relevant order may be made under section 7 of the 2007 Act (power to implement proposals for a single tier of local government for an area).

(2) In this section—

2 Extent, commencement and short title

(1) This Act extends to England and Wales only.

(2) This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.

(3) This Act may be cited as the Local Government Act 2010.
