The Animal Welfare (Codes of Practice) (Appointed Day) (England) Order 2010

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 15(5) of the Animal Welfare Act 2006( 1 ), makes the following Order.

Citation and application

1. This Order—

(a) may be cited as the Animal Welfare (Codes of Practice) (Appointed Day) (England) Order 2010; and

(b) applies in England.

Appointed Day

2. The appointed day for the following codes of practice coming into force is 6th April 2010—

(a) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Privately Kept Non-Human Primates( 2 );

(b) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Cats( 3 );

(c) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Dogs( 4 );

(d) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Horses, Ponies, Donkeys and their Hybrids( 5 ).
