The Crime and Disorder (Overview and Scrutiny) (Amendment) Regulations 2010

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(3) to (5) of the Police and Justice Act 2006( 1 ).

In accordance with section 20(4) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted with the Welsh Ministers( 2 ) regarding the provisions in relation to local authorities in Wales.

Citation and commencement

1. β€”(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Crime and Disorder (Overview and Scrutiny) (Amendment) Regulations 2010.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on 1st April 2010.

Amendment of the Crime and Disorder (Overview and Scrutiny) Regulations 2009

2. In regulation 3 (co-opting of additional members) of the Crime and Disorder (Overview and Scrutiny) Regulations 2009( 3 ) for paragraph (4) substituteβ€”

β€œ (4) The crime and disorder committee of a local authority (or authorities) shall not co-opt a person to serve on the committee who is a member of the executive of that local authority (or authorities). ”
