The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(5) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000( 1 ):

Citation and commencement

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Freedom of Information (Removal of References to Public Authorities) Order 2010.

(2) Except for the purposes of Part 2 of the Schedule, this Order comes into force on 1 October 2010.

(3) For the purposes of Part 2 of the Schedule, this Order comes into force on 31 December 2011.

(4) In this Order, “the Act” means the Freedom of Information Act 2000 .

Removal of references to public authorities

2. In Part 6 of Schedule 1 to the Act (other public bodies and offices: general) omit the entries listed in Part 1 and Part 2 of the Schedule to this Order.

3. In Part 7 of Schedule 1 to the Act (other public bodies and offices: Northern Ireland) omit the entries listed in Part 3 of the Schedule to this Order.
