The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(1) of the Football (Offences) Act 1991( 1 ), makes the following Order.
Citation, commencement and extent
1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Football (Offences) (Designation of Football Matches) (Amendment) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 26th May 2011.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.
Amendment to the Football (Offences) (Designation of Football Matches) Order 2004
2. —(1)The Football (Offences) (Designation of Football Matches) Order 2004( 2 ) is amended as follows.
(2) In article 3(1) for “paragraph (2)” substitute “paragraphs (2) or (3)”.
(3) In article 3(2) for “or the League of Wales,” substitute “, the Scottish Football League or the Welsh Premier League, or whose home ground is for the time being situated outside England and Wales,”.
(4) After article 3(2) insert—
“ (3) A designated match is an association football match in competition for the Football Association Cup (other than in a preliminary or qualifying round). ”
