The Bribery Act 2010 (Commencement) Order 2011

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19(1) of the Bribery Act 2010( 1 ). Before doing so, in accordance with section 19(4) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted the Scottish Ministers( 2 ).

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Bribery Act 2010 (Commencement) Order 2011.

Commencement

2.The Bribery Act 2010 comes into force on 1st July 2011 to the extent that it is not already in force.

Section 19(4) of the Bribery Act 2010 provides that the Secretary of State must consult the Scottish Ministers before making an order under that section in connection with any provision of that Act which would be within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament if it were contained in an Act of that Parliament.
