The Secretary of State is a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to the regulation of specifications, construction, placing on the market and use of equipment intended for weighing, measuring or testing or for purposes ancillary thereto.

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Citation and Commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Calibration of Tanks of Vessels (EEC Requirements) (Revocation) Regulations 2011 and shall come into force on 1st July 2011.

Revocations

2. The following Regulations are revokedβ€”

(a) the Calibration of Tanks of Vessels (EEC Requirements) Regulations 1975( 3 ) (β€œthe 1975 Regulations”);

(b) regulation 2 of the EEC Requirements (Amendment) Regulations 1985; and

(c) regulation 3 of the Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations 1988.
