The General Dental Council has made the General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) (Amendment) Rules 2010 which are set out in the Schedule to this Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(6) and 50C(5) of, and paragraph 8(1)(c) of Schedule 1 to, the Dentists Act 1984( 1 ).
By virtue of sections 50C(2)( 2 ) and (3) of that Act, such rules shall not come into force until approved by Order of the Privy Council.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) (Amendment) Rules Order of Council 2011 and comes into force on 31st January 2011.

2. Their Lordships, having taken the Rules contained in the Schedule into consideration, are pleased to and do approve them.

SCHEDULE The General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) (Amendment) Rules 2010
The General Dental Council make the following Rules in exercise of their powers conferred by sections 2(6) and 50C(5) of, and paragraph 8(1)(c) of Schedule 1 to, the Dentists Act 1984( 3 ).
Citation and commencement
1. These Rules may be cited as the General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) (Amendment) Rules 2010 and shall come into force on 31st January 2011.
Amendment of rule 4 of the General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) Rules 2009
2. In the General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) Rules 2009( 4 ), in rule 4(1) (the Committees)—
(a) in subparagraph (b) (Interim Orders Committee), for “100” substitute “175”;
(b) in subparagraph (c) (Professional Conduct Committee), for “100” substitute “175”;
(c) in subparagraph (d) (Health Committee), for “50” substitute “175”;
(d) in subparagraph (e) (Professional Performance Committee), for “100” substitute “175”; and
(e) in subparagraph (f) (Registration Appeals Committee), for “100” substitute “175”.
