The Landfill (Maximum Landfill Amount) Regulations 2011

The Secretary of State has consulted the Scottish Ministers, the Welsh Ministers( 1 ) and the Department of the Environment in accordance with section 1(4) of the Waste and Emissions Trading Act 2003( 2 ) and has obtained their agreement in accordance with section 2(2) to (4) of that Act.
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1) and 2(1) of that Act.
A draft of this instrument has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament pursuant to section 28(2) of that Act.
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations—
(a) may be cited as the Landfill (Maximum Landfill Amount) Regulations 2011; and
(b) come into force on 1st October 2011.
Landfill targets
2. The maximum amount of biodegradable municipal waste by weight in tonnes that may be sent to landfill from each area specified in the table in each scheme year that is a target year must be in accordance with the table.

Revocation
3.The Landfill (Scheme Year and Maximum Landfill Amount) Regulations 2004( 3 ) are revoked, except for regulations 1 and 2.
