The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(7) of the Derelict Land Act 1982( 1 ).
In accordance with section 1(8) of that Act, (a) the Secretary of State is of the opinion that the economic situation in the locality to which this Order applies is such that the making of the Order would be particularly appropriate with a view to contributing to the development of industry in the locality; and (b) the Treasury have consented to the making of this Order.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Derelict Land Clearance Area (Chantry Lane, Welwyn Hatfield) Order 2011 and comes into force on 14th December 2011.
Derelict Land Clearance Area
2. —(1) Subsections (1) to (6) of section 1 of the Derelict Land Act 1982 shall have effect in relation to land in the locality shown bounded by the outside edge of a bold red line on the map, as they have effect in relation to land in a development area or intermediate area.
(2) In paragraph (1), “the map” means the map marked “Map referred to in the Derelict Land Clearance Area (Chantry Lane, Welwyn Hatfield) Order 2011 ” and signed by authority of the Secretary of State, duplicates of which have been deposited, and are available for inspection, at the offices of the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and at the offices of the Secretary of State.
