Citation, commencement, application and interpretation_I1

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Smoke-free (Signs) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 1st October 2012.

(2) These Regulations apply in relation to England only.

(3) In these Regulations—

(a) “the Act” means the Health Act 2006 ;

(c) “smoke-free premises” means all public premises and workplaces which are smoke-free by virtue of section 2 or 4 of the Act, other than those exempt by virtue of regulations made under section 3 of the Act( 2 ).

Duty to display no-smoking signs in vehicles_I2

2. Any person with management responsibilities for [^F2a vehicle that is smoke-free by virtue of regulation 11(1) of the Smoke-free (Exemptions and Vehicles) Regulations 2007,^F2] shall be under a duty corresponding to that mentioned in section 6(1) of the Act to ensure that at least one legible no-smoking sign is displayed in that vehicle.

3. At least one legible no-smoking sign must be displayed in smoke-free premises in accordance with the duty at section 6(1) of the Act.

Revocation_I4

4. The Smoke-free (Signs) Regulations 2007(3) are revoked.
