The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) Regulations 2012

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Secretary of State is a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to the environmental aspects of product design and makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Citation and commencement

(2) Subject to paragraph (3), these Regulations come into force on 1st January 2013.

(3) Regulation 3(3) comes into force on 29th September 2013.

(2) In Schedule 1 (declaration of conformity) in the table at paragraph 4 after item 12 insert—

“ 13 A water pump Commission Regulation ( EU ) No 547/2012 implementing Directive 2009/125/ EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for water pumps ( 4 )
14 An air conditioner or a comfort fan Commission Regulation (EU) No 206/2012 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for air conditioners and comfort fans ( 5 ) ” .

Amendment of the Energy Information Regulations 2011

3. —(1)The Energy Information Regulations 2011( 6 ) are amended as follows.

(2) In the table at Schedule 1 (EU measures) for the entry relating to air-conditioners substitute—

“ Air conditioners Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 626/2011 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to energy labelling of air conditioners ( 7 ) 1st January 2013 ” .

(3) In the table at Schedule 1 (EU measures) for the entry relating to tumble driers substitute—

“ Household tumble driers Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 392/2012 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to energy labelling of household tumble driers ( 8 ) 29th September 2013 ” .
