The Young People's Learning Agency Abolition (Consequential Amendments to Subordinate Legislation) (England) Order 2012

The Secretary of State for Education makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by sections 67(2) and 78(2)(c) of the Education Act 2011 .
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Young People's Learning Agency Abolition (Consequential Amendments to Subordinate Legislation) (England) Order 2012 and comes into force on 1st May 2012.
Amendment of the Social Security (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations 1979
2. In regulation 2(1) (interpretation) of the Social Security (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations 1979 in the definition of “training allowance” omit “Young People's Learning Agency for England,”.
Amendment of the Income Support (General) Regulations 1987
3. —(1)The Income Support (General) Regulations 1987 are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2(1) (interpretation) in paragraph (a) of the definition of “training allowance” omit “the Young People's Learning Agency for England,”.
(3) In regulation 61(1) (interpretation)—
(a) in paragraph (d) of the definition of “access funds”—
(i) for “Young People's Learning Agency for England under sections 61 and 62 of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009” substitute “ Secretary of State under section 14 of the Education Act 2002 ” , and
(ii) for “that Act” substitute “ the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 ” ;

Amendment of the Council Tax (Discount Disregards) Order 1992
4. In paragraph 8(1)(b)(ii) of Schedule 1 (definition of students, etc. ) to the Council Tax (Discount Disregards) Order 1992 for “Young People's Learning Agency for England” substitute “ Secretary of State under section 14 of the Education Act 2002 ” .
Amendment of the Jobseeker's Allowance Regulations 1996
5. —(1)The Jobseeker's Allowance Regulations 1996 are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 1(3) (citation, commencement and interpretation)—
(a) in the definition of “full-time course of advanced education”—
(i) in paragraphs (a) and (b) for “Young People's Learning Agency for England” substitute “ Secretary of State under section 14 of the Education Act 2002 ” in each place where those words occur, and
