The Secretary of State for Education in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 29(3) and 569(4) of the Education Act 1996( 1 ) makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Information as to Provision of Education (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and come into force on 1st July 2013.
Amendment of the Information as to Provision of Education (England) Regulations 2008
2. —(1)The Information as to Provision of Education (England) Regulations 2008( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In Schedule 1—
(a) after paragraph 6 insert—
“ 6ZA. Any change in the capacity of each of the primary and secondary schools described in paragraph 6—
(a) for each 12 month period ending on the third Thursday in May in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and
(b) for the 12 month period ending on the third Thursday in May in 2014 and every subsequent year.
6ZB. In respect of any growth in capacity in the period referred to in paragraph 6ZA—
(a) each age group to which places were added,
(b) the number of places added to the age groups referred to in Paragraph (a),
(c) whether the additional places referred to in Paragraph (b) were—
(i) to be permanent additional places, or
(ii) added to each age group only in the year in respect of which the information was provided,
(d) how the added places were accommodated,
(e) whether the accommodation referred to in Paragraph (d) was temporary or permanent, and if temporary, the period for which it was intended this accommodation would be used,
(f) the total cost of the accommodation provided,
(g) the percentage of the total cost referred to in (f) that related to the maintenance of school buildings,
(h) the unit cost per place added,
(i) the sources of funding used to pay for the accommodation provided,
(j) in respect of the sources of funding referred to in Paragraph (i), the amount from each source of funding used.” ”
(b) After paragraph 6A insert—
“ 6B. Forecasts of the change in capacity of each of the primary and secondary schools described in paragraph 6 for a three year period commencing on the third Thursday in May in the year in which the information is provided to the Secretary of State.
6C. In respect of any growth in capacity in the period referred to in paragraph 6B, a forecast of—
(a) each age group to which it is intended places will be added,
(b) the number of places it is intended to add to the age groups referred to in Paragraph (a),
(c) whether it is intended that the additional places referred to in Paragraph (b) would be permanent additional places or would be added for each age group in one year only,
(d) how it is intended to accommodate the added places,
(e) whether it is intended that the accommodation referred to in Paragraph (d) is temporary or permanent, and if temporary, the period for which it is intended this accommodation will be used,
(f) the total cost of the accommodation referred to in Paragraph (d),
(g) the percentage of the total cost referred to in Paragraph (f) that relates to the maintenance of school buildings,
(h) the unit cost per place added,
(i) the sources of funding used to pay for the accommodation provided,
(j) in respect of the sources of funding referred to in Paragraph (h), the amount from each source of funding used. ”
