The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to measures relating to rights of entry into, and residence in, the United Kingdom, makes the following Regulations.

Citation and commencement I1

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (European Economic Area) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and come into force on 1st July 2013.

Amendments to the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006I2

2.The Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006( 3 ) are amended as follows—

(a) in regulation 16 (issue of registration certificate), in paragraph (7), omit “and shall be issued free of charge”;

(b) in regulation 17 (issue of residence card), omit paragraph (7);

(c) in regulation 18 (issue of a document certifying permanent residence and a permanent residence card), omit paragraph (4); and

(d) in regulation 18A (issue of a derivative residence card), in paragraph (4), omit “free of charge and”.
