The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(1) and (2) of the Protection of Wrecks Act 1973( 1 ).

The Secretary of State is satisfied in relation to the site identified at article 2(1) of this Order of the matters set out in section 1(1) of that Act.

The Secretary of State has consulted such persons as she considers to be appropriate having regard to the purposes of this Order, in accordance with section 1(4) of that Act.

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Protection of Wrecks (Designation) (England) Order 2013 and comes into force on 31st July 2013.

Identification of site and designation of restricted area

2. —(1) This Order is made in respect of the site where a vessel lies, or is supposed to lie, at Latitude 50°44.89′ North, Longitude 001°21.37′ West( 2 ).

(2) The area within 75 metres of the site identified in paragraph (1), excluding any part of that area above the high water mark of ordinary spring tides, is designated as a restricted area.
