The Crime and Courts Act 2013 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2013

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 61(2) of the Crime and Courts Act 2013( 1 ):

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Crime and Courts Act 2013 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2013.

(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Crime and Courts Act 2013.

Commencement of section 50 of, and Schedule 20 to, the Act

2. —(1) Section 50 of the Act comes into force in accordance with this article.

(2) For the purposes of paragraphs 3 and 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 20 to the Act, in so far as they insert sections 19F(2) and 83E(2) in to the Extradition Act 2003( 2 ), in so far as those sections give the Secretary of State the power to make an order designating prosecutors and descriptions of prosecutors, on 18th September 2013.

(3) In England and Wales and Northern Ireland, for all remaining purposes of Part 1 of Schedule 20 to the Act, on 14th October 2013.

(4) In Northern Ireland, for the purposes of Part 2 of Schedule 20 to the Act, on 14th October 2013.
