The Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (Commencement No.6) Order 2013

The Lord President of the Council makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 43(1) of the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009( 1 ).

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) This order may be cited as the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (Commencement No.6) Order 2013.

(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 .

Provisions coming into force on 22nd January 2013

2. Subsections (1), (2) and (4) of section 27 (returning officers for elections to the European Parliament) of the Act come into force on 22nd January 2013.

Provision coming into force on 1st January 2014

3. Section 27(3) of the Act comes into force on 1st January 2014.

2009 c.12 . Article 3 of the Lord President of the Council Order 2010 ( S.I. 2010/1837 ) provides that the powers conferred on the Secretary of State under section 43 are exercisable concurrently by the Secretary of State and the Lord President of the Council.
