M1 The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973 with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Kimberley Process (Fees) Regulations 2014 and come into force on 22nd July 2014.

Interpretation

2. β€”(1) In these Regulationsβ€”

β€œ Department ” means [F1 the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office F1] , and

M2 β€œ Principal Regulation ” means Council Regulation (EC) No. 2368/2002 adopted by the Council of the European Union on 20th December 2002 as amended from time to time.

(2) Unless the context otherwise requires, expressions used in the Regulations, and which are also used in the Principal Regulation, shall have the meaning they bear in that Regulation.

Prescription of fees

F23. The fee specified in the Schedule to these Regulations is prescribed as the fee payable in connection with the service provided by the Department in pursuance of ... Article 12 of the Principal Regulation.

Payment of fees

4. A fee payable under regulation 3 above shall be paid to the Department at the same time that the application to which it relates is made to the Department.

Revocation

M35.The Kimberley Process (Fees) Regulations 2004 are revoked.
