The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 3 and 34 of, and paragraphs 1, 2, 4, 4A, 7, 8(1) and 10 of Schedule 1 to, the Building Act 1984( 1 ).
Citation, extent, application and commencement
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Building (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.
(3) These Regulations do not apply in relation to any building in Wales other than an excepted energy building, and βexcepted energy buildingβ shall have the same meaning as in the Schedule to the Welsh Ministers (Transfer of Functions) (No.2) Order 2009( 2 ).
(4) These Regulations come into force on 1st October 2014.
Amendments to the Building Regulations 2010
2. β(1)The Building Regulations 2010( 3 ) are amended in accordance with the following paragraphs.
(2) In column 2 of paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 (self-certification schemes and exemptions from requirement to give building notice or deposit full plans) omit βHETAS Limited,β.
(3) In column 2 of Schedule 3A (third party certification schemes and exemptions from requirement to give building notice or deposit full plans) omit βBSI Assurance UK Limited,β.

1984 c.55 . Section 1 was amended by section 1(1) to (3), paragraph 4A of Schedule 1 was inserted by section 8(1), paragraph 7 was amended by section 3(1) to (5), and paragraph 8(1) by section 3(6) of the Sustainable and Secure Buildings Act 2004 (c.22) . Paragraph 7(a)(xxiie) of Schedule 1 was inserted by section 11 of the Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Act 2006 (c.19) .
S.I. 2010/2214 , as amended by S.I. 2014/579 . There are other amendments, but none is relevant.
