The Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2014

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 58(2) and (3)(b) of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009( 1 ) and having consulted the Scottish Ministers in accordance with section 58(15) of that Act, makes the following Order:

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2014.

Appointed date

2. The date appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 is 27th October 2014—

(a) section 41(5), insofar as it inserts subsection (8)(b) into section 41 of the British Nationality Act 1981 ( 2 ), excepting the words “(bc), (bd) or (be)”; and

(b) section 52 (extension of sections 1 to 4 of the UK Borders Act 2007( 3 ) to Scotland).
