The Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) (Amendment) Regulations 2014

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 103(2)(a) and (6) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012( 1 ).
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and come into force on 1st April 2014.
Amendment to the Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) Regulations 2013
2.Regulation 3 of the Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) Regulations 2013( 2 ) is amended as follows—
(a) in paragraph (3)(b)(i), after “£580” insert “(subject to paragraph (6))”;
(b) for paragraph (4) substitute—
“ (4) The applicable amount, in the case of a child who is remanded to a young offender institution, means—
(a) on or after 1st July 2013 (but before 1st April 2014), £157;
(b) on or after 1st April 2014, £158. ” ;
(c) in paragraph (5)—
(i) in sub-paragraph (a), after “2013” insert “(but before 1st December 2013)”;
(ii) in sub-paragraph (b), after “2013” insert “(but before 1st April 2014)”; and
(iii) after sub-paragraph (b) insert—
“ (c) on or after 1st April 2014, £581. ” ;
(d) after paragraph (5), insert—
“ (6) The applicable amount, in the case of a child who is remanded to a secure children’s home, means—
(a) on or after 1st April 2014 (but before 1st May 2014), £561;
(b) on or after 1st May 2014, £555. ” .
