The Whitney-on-Wye Bridge (Revision of Tolls) Order 2015

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Transport Charges &c. (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1954( 1 ) makes the following Order.

1. This Order may be cited as the Whitney-on-Wye Bridge (Revision of Tolls) Order 2015 and comes into force on 29th June 2015.

2. In this Order—

the Act of 1780” means the Act 20 Geo. III Cap. XXVII entitled “An Act for building a Bridge across the River Wye, between Whitney and Clifford, in the County of Hereford”,

the bridge” means the Whitney-on-Wye bridge the construction of which was authorised by the Act of 1780,

the bridge undertakers” means the undertakers for the time being for the building, supporting and maintaining of the bridge appointed by the Act of 1780, and

passenger vehicle”, “goods vehicle”, “motor vehicle”, “motor cycle” and “maximum gross weight” have the same meanings as in regulation 3(2) of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 ( 2 ).

3. The maximum tolls that the bridge undertakers may demand and take for the use of the bridge are revised in accordance with the table in the Schedule to this Order.

4. The Whitney-on-Wye Bridge (Revision of Tolls) Order 2009( 3 ) is revoked.
