The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2015

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 61(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015( 1 ) makes the following Regulations.

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2015.

(2) In these Regulations “the 2015 Act” means the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Provisions coming into force on 15th October 2015

2. The following provisions of the 2015 Act come into force on 15th October 2015—

(a) section 49 (guidance about identifying and supporting victims);

(b) section 51 (presumption about age); and

(c) section 53 (overseas domestic workers).

Provision coming into force on 1st November 2015

3.Section 52 (duty to notify Secretary of State about suspected victims of slavery or human trafficking) of the 2015 Act comes into force on 1st November 2015.
