The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2015

A draft of these Regulations was laid before Parliament in accordance with section 51(5) of the National Minimum Wage Act 1998( 1 ) and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
The Secretary of State, in accordance with sections 5(4) and 6(3) of the National Minimum Wage Act 1998, has laid a report before each House of Parliament containing a statement of reasons for the decision to make regulations in the circumstances described in paragraphs (b) and (d) of section 5(4).
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(3), 2, 3 and 51 of the National Minimum Wage Act 1998( 2 ), makes the following Regulations.
Citation and commencement
1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2015.
(2) These Regulations come into force on 1st October 2015.
Amendments to the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015
2. —(1)The National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015( 3 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 4(1) (national minimum wage rates)—
(a) for “£6.50” substitute “£6.70”;
(b) for “£5.13” substitute “£5.30”;
(c) for “£3.79” substitute “£3.87”;
(d) for “£2.73” substitute “£3.30”.
(3) In regulation 16(1) (amount for provision of living accommodation) for “£5.08” substitute “£5.35”.

Section 3(1A) was inserted by S.I. 1999/583 and amended by S.I. 2007/2042 ; section 51(6) and (7) was amended by the Employment Act 2008 (c.24) , sections 9(3) and 20 and Schedule, Part 2.
