The Criminal Justice (Specified Class B Drugs) Order 2015

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 70(1) of the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000( 1 ).

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Specified Class B Drugs) Order 2015 and comes into force on 1st February 2015.

Specified Class B drugs

2. The following substances and products are specified Class B drugs( 2 ) under section 70(1) of the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000:

(a) cannabis and cannabis resin( 3 ), and

(b) amphetamine, its salts and any preparation or other product containing amphetamine or its salts.

Class B drug is defined in section 70(1) of the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000 to have the same meaning as in the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (c. 38) .

Cannabis and cannabis resin were reclassified by S.I. 2008/3130 from Class C to Class B drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
