The Secretary of State, who is a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to measures relating to lifts and safety components for use in lifts, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act.

Citation and Commencement I1

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Lifts (Amendment) Regulations 2016 and come into force on 8th December 2016.

Amendment to the Lifts Regulations 2016I2

2. In regulation 3(2)(a) of the Lifts Regulations 2016( 3 ), for โ€œon or afterโ€ substitute โ€œbeforeโ€.
