It appears to the Treasury that each body designated by this Order represents the interests of those who use, or are likely to use, services provided by payment systems, and satisfies the criteria to be applied in determining whether to designate a body which have been published by the Treasury under section 68(3)(b) of the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013( 1 ).
The Treasury make this Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 68(2) of the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013.
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (Designated Representative Bodies) Order 2016 and comes into force on 1st April 2016.
Designation of bodies
2. The following bodies are designated under section 68(2) of the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013—
(a) the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux( 2 );
(b) Consumers’ Association( 3 );
(c) the General Consumer Council for Northern Ireland( 4 );
(d) National Federation of Self Employed and Small Businesses Limited( 5 );
(e) Age UK( 6 ).
